Kahana Foundation

A Honolulu-based 501 (c) (3) nonprofit that uses media and events to promote environmental awareness and sustainability. Founded by Alexandra Simone, the organization focuses on grassroots environmental campaigns, single-use plastic bans, and youth education

Driven by passion

Years ago, Alex had a dream of making long-lasting change in the world. She knew education was needed, but it had to be in a way that was digestible, messaged differently based on the audience, and inspiring. She began Kahana Foundation to create content that inspired change.

Since completing her feature-length documentary, ReUnite US, the non-profit has been mostly put on hold; she keeps it with the plan to further blend her business with her nonprofit and create more free opportunities for her community- in particular, children.
